Summer in the City
Activities in Carmel this summer.
One of the best-of-the-fests anywhere rocks our city in the summertime. That would be CarmelFest of course, which continues its 25 year tradition of celebrating America’s birthday. The 2014 Silver Jubilee event, called “The Spirit of America,” kicks off Thursday, July 3rd from 4 – 10:30 p.m. with live bands, kid rides and food, food, food. Much more follows Friday, starting with the 4th of July Parade at 10:30 a.m. and concluding with an amazing fireworks display at 9:45 p.m. Check out www.Carmelfest.net for a complete schedule.
And speaking of food, the Carmel Farmers Market (CFM) on Center Green adjacent to the Palladium offers a cornucopia of fresh fruits, veggies, meats and cheeses every Saturday morning May through September from 8 – 11:30 a.m. Live music, cooking demonstrations and children’s activities keep food comas at bay while you munch your way through breakfast sandwiches, Belgium waffles and Danish pastries. Visit www.CarmelFarmersMarket.com for the delicious details.
What about the rest of the calendar, you might ask? Join us as we explore the possibilities and let the good times roll!

IU Health North Hospital Artomobilia
Classic, collectible and one-of-a-kind cars line the streets of the Carmel Arts & Design District as a celebration of the art and artistry of the automobile. Our galleries and artists actively participate in the festival as well and in 2014 will feature the work of Czech artist Tom Havlasek. Tom has been commissioned to design distinctive sets of paintings to highlight both the Featured Marque for 2014 and the signature CA&D District arches. Streets are packed with those who want to see their dream cars and interact with their owners. For some it’s a trip down memory lane, while for others it’s a chance to see their fantasy cars up close. For the cars’ exhibitors, it is the opportunity to share their passion with others.
