Summer Gazebo concert schedule released
One of Carmel's best summer traditions is about to kick off again — the 2014 Summer Family Concert Series at the Gazebo
The Series at the Gazebo begins its 21st year on Wednesday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the ever-popular Flying Toasters, performing a variety of crowd-pleasing tunes.
Concerts continue on Wednesday evenings through Aug. 6 at the Gazebo at Carmel Civic Square (there will be no concert on July 2nd, due to Carmelfest activities). All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and last approximately 75 minutes.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic supper to enjoy this Carmel summer tradition. In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Fire Station #41 bay area of the Steven A. Couts Fire Headquarters located at Two Civic Square, immediately north of the Fountain.
The 2014 series offers nine family-friendly concerts featuring a mix of pop, rock, jazz, and country musical performances. In addition, at 6 p.m. on both June 11 and July 9, children’s favorite, Ruditoonz, will give a performance for kids of all ages!
Attendance at the free concerts has increased steadily to as many as 2,500 persons each Wednesday since the series began in 1993. The Summer Family Concert Series at the Gazebo is presented by the Carmel Fountain Square Committee, a non-profit volunteer organization. The series is totally funded by individual and corporate sponsors. A detailed listing of the sponsors for the 2014 series is attached.
